On Tuesday former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's hockey stars Maggie Flaherty and Emma Soderberg signed professional deals in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Flaherty finished 11th in the nation amongst blueliners in points last season with 25 and is now going pro in her home state. The Minnesota Whitecaps announced they signed the 22-year-old Lakeville, Minn. native to a one-year deal. Last season the Bulldogs defender was named a Third Team All-WCHA star recording nine goals and 16 assists in 39 games.
