ST. PAUL — The two-vehicle crash that killed a 19-year-old Gustavus Adolphus hockey player from Little Canada on Sunday, Aug. 20, was caused when her teammate failed to obey a stop sign, the State Patrol says in search warrant affidavits. Jori Lynn Jones was killed and three of her college teammates injured in the crash, which happened about 12:40 p.m. Sunday at an intersection in Grace Township, about 25 miles west of Willmar in west-central Minnesota. Jones, who was a passenger, died at Montevideo Hospital, where her teammates Kayla Marie Bluhm, 20, of Chisago City; Gianna Kate Gasparini, 19, of Lakeville; and Lily Kay Mortenson, 19, of Champlin; were taken with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.
